We finally arrived in Durban, South Africa after many, many hours on 4 different planes. I, thankfully, was able to sleep (thanks to Tylenol PM), Mom, on the other hand, had issues sleeping. As we were landing, I was fortunate enough to see the Indian Ocean. (For those who were involved in the debate as to how many oceans there are in the world, there are 5. The Indian Ocean is one of them. This means, I have officially seen 3 of the 5 oceans!) We met Jody there, and it was finally nice to be there. When I stepped off of the plane in Durban, I think my body finally started to defrost. It was a balmy 80+ degrees. Do you remember the last time it was that warm? I don't!! When we left Illinois, it was maybe 30 degrees and I remember seeing snow fly sometime that week. Anyway, the rest of the day was spent traveling to Tugela Ferry (about 3 hours from Durban), unwinding from the flights, and playing with Little Bitty Kitty.
